Leo Tang

Leo Tang Wan Sum is a Hong Kong–based pianist and collaborative musician. He is currently studying Piano Performance at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, where he works closely with senior lecturer Dr. Chang Tao. Looking ahead, Tang plans to continue his studies at the master’s level to further develop his artistry and professional musicianship.

Tang’s musical growth has also been shaped by internationally respected musicians, including Royal College of Music professor Mengyang Pan, Texas Christian University professor Dr. Enrico Elisi, University of Calgary professor Dr. Jani Parsons and Missouri State University professors Dr. Hye-Jung Hong and Dr. Wei-Han Su. These experiences have broadened his musical perspective and strengthened his approach to sound, style and interpretation.

Tang holds the LTCL Performance Diploma from Trinity College London and the Royal College of Music Level 8 Theory Certificate. He has received recognition in both local and international competitions, including a Special Prize at the German Irmler International Piano Open Competition, as well as multiple top awards in Hong Kong.

As a piano accompanist, Tang enjoys working closely with singers and instrumentalists to bring music to life through detailed rehearsal, sensitive collaboration and supportive artistry. With every performance and coaching session, he aims to help young musicians gain confidence, musical clarity and expressive freedom on stage.
