English Biography:

Tenor, John Ho is currently completing his Bachelor of Music degree at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts under the tutelage of Mr. Alex Tam, after taking voice lessons with Mr. Gerald Hon. Ho has performed a number of operatic roles including Sesto in Händel’s Giulio Cesare, Bardolfo in Verdi’s Falstaff, Arbace in Mozart’s Idomeneo, Don Ottavio in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Remendado in Bizet’s Carmen, Beppe in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci and Monostatos in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte.

Ho has choral experience including Bizet’s Carmen, Bellini’s I Capuleti e i Montecchi, and Donizetti’s Don Pasquale by Opera Hong Kong, as well as Quah and Lam’s The Happy Prince & The Other Wise Man and The Marry Party (with songs borrowed from Franz Lehár’s “The Merry Widow” and Johann Strauss II’s “Die Fledermaus”) by Bel Canto Singers.

Ho has been the choir conductor for over two years and participated in a pop band for over seven years. He also instructed individuals of all ages and groups on vocal performances.

Apart from vocal accomplishments, Ho has obtained ABRSM Grade 8 with outstanding results for Piano (Distinction) and Clarinet, and Trinity College London Music Theory Diploma Exam Associate (AMusTCL). He also won the Championship of The 1st (Taiwan) Asia. Aegean Sea Music Competition – Hong Kong Preliminary Round 2017 – Piano Duet Class.
