Aaron Kwan

Singing Teacher

Baritone Aaron Kwan graduated from HKUST, the Hong Kong University and lately HKAPA, under the tutelage of Prof. Nancy Yuen and Mr. David Quah.

Kwan performed as Leporello (Don Giovanni), Baron Zeta (Merry Widow) and Achillia (Giulio Cesare) in HKAPA opera productions as well as various roles in opera scenes including Escamillo (Carmen), Porgy (Porgy and Bess), Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro), Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte), Maximillian (Candide) and other roles.

He also performed as the Imperial Commissioner in Hong Kong City Opera’s production of Madame Butterfly. He also sang as the baritone soloist in Handel’s Messiah) with the HKU Alumni Choir.

 

Kwan’s ensemble and chorus performances include The Merry Party, an arranged musical production of Léhar’s Die lustige Witwe, and Strauss’ Die Fledermaus by

Bel Canto Singers;; and many Opera Hong Kong’s production since 2015. A career highlight, Kwan has performed in Lamusical, a musical theatre-styled concert,

by Cantonese pop singer George Lam at the Hong Kong Coliseum.Kwan has also starred in musical theatre productions by the Actor’s Family and the BOOM theatre.

 

Kwan also works as a composer and music arranger. He has composed and produced theme songs for school tour dramas for Theatre in the Dark for years. Kwan was also the music director, singing coach and co-songwriter of musical

“熒惑上的燈塔” (Dynamic Heart Theatre Lab). He now serves as a Singing Teacher and Choir Conductor for various schools and music studios.
